Rauscher 4 For 4 With Limbaugh Memorial Win, New Smyrna Results Due Sunday, January 1st!

Sunday, December 25th, 2022, 6:39 pm.....

The fourth round of the 2023 SSRA N3OCS season took place on December 18th with the inaugural visit to Homestead Miami Speedway for the running of the Rush Limbaugh Memorial 100 (which was held last season at Auto Club Speedway last season). In qualifying Steven Hyde won his first pole since the Daytona Beach Road Course in 2021. Once the race got underway Hyde fell back after leading the first few laps, as defending series champion"Big" Gregg Rauscher powered into the lead and never looked back. At the checkers Rauscher won his 4th straight race of the season and the 90th career win by 7 seconds over Ghostface Racer. Part-timer Jeff Primerano finished a solid 3rd. Hoisting the "Golden EIB Microphone" winner's trophy in victory lane a jubilant Rauscher said "Winning this race is always special to me. Christmas was Rush's favorite holiday and being in South Florida makes it even more special. We had to save a bit of fuel but other than that it was pretty uneventful today, the car was very good. Merry Christmas everybody!".

"Chicago" Chris Primerano finished 2nd eleven seconds back, with series veteran Ghostface Racer finishing 3rd.

Series points leader Gregg Rauscher, who won the inaugural Rush Limbaugh race which was held at Auto Club Speedway will be a top contender, along with former Daytona and Indy winner "Rocket" Randy Cowen, who is hot off a pole position at Rafaela, However, the 3 Pr1mo Racing drivers (Todd, Jeff and Chris Primerano) who have been strong in 2023, multiple championship runner-up Steven Hyde and former Daytona winner Ghostface Racer could also play into the outcome of the 67 lap race. The stars of the SSRA will run 35 laps around the giant 2.873 mile oval, which is located in Rafaela, Santa Fe, Argentina. Built in 1952, but reconfigured in 1970 to it's current layout, the track hosted twin 53 lap Indycar race in 1971, both of which were won by Al Unser Sr. Although that was the only major race ever held at the track, the facility still hosts local series on both the oval with chicanes added and the infield road course. Arguably the top contenders for the win are Daytona winner and series points leader Gregg Rauscher and former Daytona and Indy winner "Rocket" Randy Cowen, but don't count out any of the Pr1mo Racing drivers who are always fast, multiple championship runner-up Steven Hyde or former Daytona winners Dusterman and Ghostface Racer. Race settings have been posted on the SSRA website. Results are due this coming Sunday night, December 4th. A big thank you to all the drivers that competed at the Dirt Track At LVMS. In the SSRA's first appearance at the Winston-Salem, NC bullring since 2013, Todd "Primo" Primerano won his 7th career pole position. When the green flag flew "Primo" took the lead and stayed out front for nearly a hundred laps, but defending series champion "Big" Gregg Rauscher stayed within striking distance and was able to take the lead as Primerano's handling went away prior to pit stops. For the rest of the race Rauscher was able to slowly pull away and at the checkers scored his 87th career win by 8.5 seconds over Primerano. Tony Plumadore Jr. took finished 3rd after a race long battle with Eddie Sedlacek.

2023 SSRA N3OCS Season Set To Kick Off At Bowman Gray Stadium, Results Due Sunday, November 6th!

Tuesday, October 25th, 2022, 12:49 am.....

First of all I want to apologize for not posting any news updates since July. I was hoping to at least touch base sometime in September, but things have been very hectic the past few months. But the good news is that the nearly 9 month long off-season has come to an end, as the 19th annual SSRA N3OCS season gets underway November 6th with the running of the 200 lap Carolina Clash at the Bowman Gray Stadium. Although this is the first SSRA N3OCS race at the Winston-Salem, NC bullring since 2013 (as well as the first 200 lap SSRA race held there), the Carolina Clash will mark the SSRA N3OCS' 8th visit to Bowman Gray. In the 7 previous events, "the Qualifying Machine" Matt Yeager is the only repeat winner.

Race Settings for the Carolina Clash from the Bowman Gray Stadium have been posted on the SSRA website. Results are due Sunday night, November 6th at midnight. Also be sure the check out the SSRA website's download section for calendar files for the 2023 SSRA N3OCS season, as well as biglogo.tga's for the 2022 NASCAR Cup season and some recently uploaded 1970 NL cars. Good luck in the 2023 season opener and thank you for competing in the SSRA N3OCS.

New N3 & NL Files Added To The SSRA Website!

Tuesday, July 12th, 2022, 2:41 am.....

Hopefully everybody's summer is off to a good start! Last year I didn't release any news updates/ write-ups during the off-season and that caused some worry as to whether the 2022 SSRA N3OCS season would actually take place. While there was no doubt in my mind as to whether it would take place or not, I thought that in order top provide some peace of mind for all the competitors, I would try to provide at least a couple news updates during the long off-season.

First and foremost, while there is nothing new to report in terms of the league itself, I would like to remind everyone that the 2023 SSRA N3OCS season will kick off on November 6th, 2022 with the running of the Carolina Clash at the Bowman Gray Stadium. A total of 9 races will make up the 19th SSRA N3OCS season, which will conclude on February 12th, 2023 at Daytona International Speedway.

Although there is nothing new to report on the SSRA N3OCS front, the past few months I have been busy updating the downloads section of the SSRA website. Just like in 2021, I am once again making N3 biglogo.tga's for all the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series races. I have been making them as the season progresses and usually I update the download every few weeks. Right now it is current up to, and including the Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

For fans of NL I have posted almost 40 cars from the 1970 NASCAR Grand National Season. Although most of the cars are either different driver versions for existing cars or what I call field fillers (the paint schemes might not be accurate but the car make, car number and driver are correct), there are also some accurate paint schemes. In some cases there aren't even any photos of the real cars to go off of. Regardless, if you are trying to accurately sim races from 1970 season they are a valuable tool to complete your starting field. Keep checking back in the coming weeks as I will likely be adding a few more cars.

Also for NL, I have uploaded a dirt version of Flemington Fair Speedway. Flemington is a very important track when it comes to Northeast racing history and I was inspired to create/ convert this track for NL after watching some late 1980's and early 1990's VHS recordings of the "This Week On DIRT" TV show, which regularly showed DIRT Modified highlights from the track. Although this NL version is essentially the N99 version of the track with a dirt surface swap, other than the more modern billboards it is very accurate IMO. As somebody who has 100's of laps on (real) dirt tracks the driving feel is about as realistic as you can get for an NL dirt track. You have can steer with the throttle and if you don't, you will push. The rectangular layout of the track is not only very accurate to the real track, but it is also quite challenging, as all 4 corners are different. Personally I feel the fun factor of this track is quite high, hopefully other people that try it out feel the same way!

I hope to do another one of these little updates sometime in September. In the mean time enjoy everything summer has to offer, especially the racing (I'm Honda Indy bound this weekend!), other outdoor activities and time with family and friends. God Bless!

2023 SSRA N3OCS Schedule Posted & Other News!

Monday, March 28th, 2022, 12:11 am.....

The 2023 SSRA N3OCS schedule has been released and posted to the SSRA website. The 19th annual SSRA N3OCS season kicks-off on November 6th with the running of the Carolina Clash at the Bowman Gray Stadium. The double points paying 200 lap race is the series first trip to the 0.250 bullring since the 2013 season finale, when "the Qualifying Machine" Matt Yeager won a 554 lap race. On November 20th the only dirt race of the season takes place at the Dirt Track at LVMS, as the track hosts the 3rd annual N3 Racing Community 50. The month of December features 2 new venues. On December 4th the SSRA N3OCS will make it's first trip to South America as the giant 2.873 mile oval at Autódromo Ciudad de Rafaela in Argentina will host the inaugural Argentine 100. Defending series champion "Big" Gregg Rauscher and former SSRA N3OCS race winners Dusterman and Jeff Primerano all spent their spring breaks testing at the facility and all said the track is very race-able, as well as fun to drive. All 3 turned laps at over 180 mph. 2 weeks later the 2nd annual Rush Limbaugh Memorial takes place. Unlike last season, in which the event took place at Auto Club Speedway, this year's race will take place at the 1.5 mile Homestead Miami Speedway. I feel this venue is very appropriate to host the race as Rush lived in South Florida the last 10 years of his life.

Unlike the first half of the 2023 SSRA N3OCS season which is dramatically different when compared to 2022, the second half of the 2023 is identical to the previous season. On January 1st the 4th annual Winter Heat Twin 25 lap races will take place at 1/2 mile New Smyrna Speedway, then on January 15th the Rolex 24 takes place at the Daytona Int'l Speedway Road Course. The last weekend in January the N3OCS drivers will tackle the sands of Daytona Beach for the 10th time before heading back to Daytona International Speedway on February 12th for the season ending Neil Bonnett/ Dale Earnhardt Memorial 150. That race which awards double points, will be the 19th appearance for the SSRA on the 2.5 mile tri-oval and the 355th official SSRA N3OCS race.

Hopefully everyone likes the new schedule. I always try to change things around enough to keep the season interesting, but at the same time provide some continuity in terms of venues. I also feel that a 9 race schedule seems to be working. There are enough races that luck usually won't play a huge part in championship but at the same time not so many races that the season drags on. I have uploaded calendar files for the upcoming season to the N3 Utilities page.

In other news I have updated the all-time career stats page on the SSRA website. In addition I have uploaded race biglogo's for the first 8 events of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, as well as a few NL cars from the 1970 Grand National season that aren't available elsewhere. Keep checking the SSRA website as I will be adding additional 2022 Cup Series race logos every few weeks until the season is over and I will also likely add more NL 1970 Grand National cars. If anybody needs any N3 or NL files hosted, just let me know.

In closing I want to thank everybody that competed in the SSRA N3OCS during the 2022 season, as well as everybody that has provided N3 content that makes running the league possible. I likely will not be posting many news updates/ write-ups during the off-season, but if you have any questions or need any help with anything SSRA or even N3 or NL in general please email me at ssra_racing@live.com . Having said that during the previous off-season I was very quiet in the N3 community, causing some to worry that the 2022 season wasn't going to happen. Even though it was 100% guaranteed to take place, not everybody realized this, so this summer I will try to touch base at least a couple times to keep up interest in the league. Enjoy the off-season and see everybody at Bowman Gray Stadium on November 6th!

2022 Season Full Championship Points Rundown!

Sunday, March 13th, 2022, 5:07 pm.....

With the 18th anniversary 2022 SSRA N3OCS season now in the record books, here is a rundown of all the drivers who scored points during the 2022 SSRA N3OCS season, some info about their seasons, their prospects for 2023 and where possible some comments from the drivers on their seasons.

2022 SSRA N3OCS Champion & Bud Pole Champion- Gregg Rauscher- After winning 6 of 9 races during the 2021 season enroute to his 9th consecutive SSRA N3OCS championship, the 2022 season was virtually identical for Gregg Rauscher. Starting out with a win in the inaugural Rush Limbaugh Memorial 100 at the California Speedway, Rauscher would go on to win a total of 6 races and claim his 10th consecutive championship by 47 points over Chris Primerano. In addition to race wins California Speedway, Stockton 99 Speedway, LVMS Dirt Track, Race 1 at New Smyrna, Daytona Beach RC and Daytona International Speedway, he finished 2nd in the 2nd New Smyrna race and at the Daytona International Speedway RC. The only race where he didn't finish in the top 2 was at Surfers Paradise, where despite not having the pace of the front runners he still finished 4th. Although not quite as dominant in qualifying as he was in race trim, "Big" Gregg still won 3 poles which was good enough to claim the 2022 Bud Pole Championship. The all-time career leader in wins (86), top 5's (312) and starts (346), Gregg Rauscher is the odds-on favorite to win the title again 2023 unless another driver can elevate their game dramatically or if Gregg has an unusually large amount of bad luck.

In his own words, "2022 was arguably my best season ever. Winning the Rush Limbaugh race to start the season meant a lot to me. That set the tone for the the whole season, other than at Surfers Paradise, where I had no chance at the win and was pretty much points racing, every other track I either won at or was at least in contention. I finished the season very strong, on the Beach I ran my fastest race ever, then at Daytona my winning speed was the fastest ever restrictor plate race speed. Qualifying is an area I could definitely improve in, but other than that hopefully 2023 will be a continuation of 2022. Having said that I don't take anything for granted, there are probably 3 or 4 guys that could win at all the tracks we race at. If one of them gets on a roll it could make my life very difficult. In closing I want to congratulate all my competitors on their seasons. Thanks guys for providing great competition."

Runner-Up- Chris Primerano- A driver that has improved almost every season since his roty season in 2011, "Chicago" Chris Primerano improved to 2nd place after finishing finishing 3rd in 2021. Always one of the best road racers, "Chicago" ended a 2 year winless streak at Surfers Paradise, but he also had strong runs at California finishing 2nd and on the dirt at Las Vegas and at the Daytona RC where he claimed 3rd place finishes. Like in previous seasons his biggest struggles came on the short tracks. The only 3 races where he failed to finish in the top 5 were at Stockton and in both New Smyrna races.  Returning in 2023 for his 11th full season, Chris Primerano could be a legitimate championship contender, but in order to do so, he will have to find more improvement on the short tracks.

In His Own Words, "Realistically I'm pleased with my season. The championship was a long shot but Tony and Todd gave me all I could handle and I'm just happy I beat them. Second and fifth is a great result for Pr1mo Racing. My goal for nest season is to get better at Smyrna and to try to win more than one race. If we can do that maybe I can improve one more position! Thanks to my Pr1mo Racing teammates for all their help and to Gregg for continuing to run the league. It's been fun."

3rd Place- Tony Plumadore Jr.- After not racing at all last season, 2016 IDEAL Brake Parts ROTY Tony Plumadore Jr. embarked on a full season for only the second time in his career and had a breakthrough season. In addition to battling series' standout Gregg Rauscher to earn his first career win in the second 25 lapper at New Smyrna, "T-Plum" had an extremely consistent season, picking up a solid 3rd place at Stockton 99 Speedway and scoring three 5th place finishes throughout the 9 race season. The Michigan racer held onto 2nd place in the points standings for much of the season, only a season's worst 8th place in season ending Neil Bonnett/Dale Earnhardt Memorial 150 dropped him to a tie for 3rd in the final standings. One of the SSRA's better short track racers, Tony Plumadore Jr. proved that he can be a consistent finisher on all types of tracks in 2022. However if he wants to be a serious contender for the 2023 championship, he will have to improve his finishing position on the road courses and at Daytona.

In His Own Words, "I finally had enough free time to run the full schedule properly. To get my first win after coming so close a few different times was really big. Overall I'm happy with my season considering most of these tracks I've only ran on once years a go or in some cases not at all, whereas most of the other guys have been to a lot of the tracks 10 or even 15 times before. So there set-ups are fine tuned and they have tons of laps which I don't so I think there is definitely room for improvement next year."

3rd Place- Ghostface Racer- A top 10 points finisher in every year of the SSRA N3OCS' existence Ghostface Racer improved slightly from a 4th place finish last season to a tie for 3rd place in 2022. Book-ending the season with 3rd place finishes (in the season opener at California Speedway and season finale at DIS) Ghost had an extremely consistent season, posting 5 top five finishes and finishing in the top 6 in all but one race. Second in all-time starts only to Gregg Rauscher, Ghost's best finish of the season came on the sands of Daytona where he finished 2nd. Likely back for another full-season in 2023 Ghostface Racer will try to improve to a top 2 points finish for the first time in his career, but to do so he will need to find a bit more pace and contend for his first win since the Springfield Mile in 2019.

In His Own Words, "This year was okay, it was actually quite a bit better than '21. If I didn't mess up in the 2nd race at New Smyrna, I would have been 2nd in the championship. But woulda, coulda, shoulda. Next season I really want to get back to victory lane. Congratulations to Gregg, Chris, Tony and everybody else on their seasons. See you in November!"

5th Place- Todd Primerano- After finishing 5th in points in 2021, Todd "Primo" Primerano duplicated that result again in 2022, his 5th consecutive top 5 points finish. Like in previous seasons Primerano was strong on the short tracks, winning poles at the LVMS Dirt Track and New Smyrna and finishing 3rd at Stockton, 2nd at the LVMS Dirt Track and 4th and 3rd in the races at New Smyrna. But in the non-short track races he could do no better than 7th. It remains to be seen if Todd can finally improve his performance on the road courses and the speedways (or even 1 of the 2 track types). If he can don't be surprised to see him contend for at least a top 3 points finish, if not it could be another points finish in the middle of the top 10.

In His Own Words, "2022 was a typical season for me. On the the smaller tracks I did everything but win a race, every other track I was running at the back hoping other guys messed up. 5th place is better than 6th, but I'm still not happy with it. It's easier said than done but I need to have some good runs on the big tracks and roadies. I really enjoy running against my dad and Uncle Chris, so we'll give it another try next year. Thanks for putting on the league."

6th Place- Steven Hyde- The championship runner-up in 2021 (for the 7th time in his career) Steven Hyde finished a disappointing 6th in 2022. The Camillus, NY campaigner started the season strong with top 5 finishes in the first 3 races including a strong runner-up finish at Stockton 99 Speedway, but then was plagued with painful injuries. As a result the final 6 races of the season were a struggle, with his only top five in that stretch a 3rd place at Daytona Beach. If Steven Hyde is healthy and pain-free in 2023 don't be surprised to see him contend for his first career championship, especially if Gregg Rauscher has some struggles. If not it could be another season of (literally) painful struggles.

In His Own Words, "I would consider this season as a setback. Personal injuries limited my seat time and it really showed on the track. Other than one runner up early in the season I was never really in contention for a win. Time will see what next season brings."

7th Place- Dusterman- A perennial underdog, 2014 IDEAL Brake Parts ROTY and 2019 Neil Bonnett/ Dale Earnhardt Memorial 150 winner Dusterman dropped one spot to 7th after finishing 6th in 2021. Finishing 4th at both Stockton 99 Speedway and the season finale at Daytona, he struggled in most of the other races finishing no better than 7th and often finishing in the bottom 2 positions. If Dusterman hopes to be a top 5 championship finisher like he was in 2020 he needs to eliminate at least 2 or 3 of those back of the back finishes, which given his past history is quite possible especially on the short tracks.

In His Own Words, "Thank you for keeping the series going. I feel that I could have done better at some of the tracks and look forward to next season."

8th Place- Eddie Sedlacek- A top 10 points finisher and race winner in the SSRA N3OCS' inaugural season back in 2005, Eddie Sedlacek scored his 4th career top 10 points finish, finishing 8th for the second consecutive season. Often short of time to properly run the races, the former Rockingham winner produced only 1 top 5 finish, a strong 2nd place at Daytona to end the season. Start and parking in the 2 road course races, Sedlacek finished 8th or worse in all but two races (7th at Daytona beach and the 2nd at DIS). Now racing mostly for fun Eddie Sedlacek has proven in the past that he can be competitive and contend for wins, but unless he has more practice and time to work on set-ups finishing much higher up in points will be difficult.

In His Own Words, "Thank you running the SSRA again in '22. I'm usually rushing to run the races but I'm still having fun with N3 and I like going to the different tracks. Daytona was oh so close. I hope to run all the races again but that's several months off so time will tell."

9th Place- Randy Cowen- After ending the 2021 season 10th in points after having to sit out the final 3 races due to steering issues, the SSRA's elder statesman "Rocket" Randy Cowen was hoping a return to past glory in 2022.  Despite starting the season on a high note by winning the pole position for the inaugural Rush Limbaugh Memorial 150 at the California Speedway, it was all downhill from there for the San Francisco native. The subsequent last place finish in that race set the tone for the rest of Cowen's season. He was the only competitor that failed to record at least one top 5 finish and other than a 6th place finish in the season finale at Daytona he failed to finish better than 8th all season long. Realistically there isn't much chance that 2023 could be any worse than this past season for the 2008 roty and 10 time SSRA N3OCS race winner. So he will likely move up in the standings and at least occasionally finish in the top 5. But it remains to be seen if he can threaten for a top 5 points finish and/ or return to victory lane.

In His Own Words, "Thanks Gregg and to all who competed. Definitely not the season I wanted. Effort needs to be better. Looking forward to next year!"

10th Place- Matt Yeager- 2020 championship runner-up and all-time career SSRA N3OCS pole positions leader Matt Yeager ran a limited schedule for the second straight season. After the 2021 which he ran 6 races enroute to 7th in the standings, "the Qualifying Machine" made only 4 starts in 20022 but still finished 10th in this years championship standings, the highest among part-time drivers. The likable Frenchman started off his season in December at Surfers Paradise where he won the pole and finished 2nd. Then at the next event in New Smyrna he took 3rd and 4th in the twin 25 lappers, before ending his season at the Daytona RC where he won his 63rd career pole position and went on to win the race, his 9th victory at that particular circuit. Although his plans are unannounced for 2023, expect Matt Yeager to run another limited schedule and whenever he shows up he will be a serious contender for victories, especially on the road courses.

11th Place- Jeff Primerano- Running limited schedules for all but one season in an SSRA career that dates back to 2009 the 3rd driver for Pr1mo Racing ran 5 races this past season that consisted of both road courses and the 3 big ovals. Although he was unable to match his 9th place points finish from 2021, the heavy equipment operator from Chicago still had a respectable season scoring 3 top 5 finishes highlighted by a podium finish (3rd) on the streets of Surfers Paradise enroute top 11th in the standings. Most likely running another limited schedule in 2023, Jeff Primerano will likely continue to be a solid contender for top 5 finishes and possibly even wins. Depending on car counts and how many full-time drivers there are, Jeff could also return to the top 10 in points.

In His Own Words, "All-in-all it wasn't that bad of a season. It's tough to win against these guys but I'm not giving up. It was a great year overall for Pr1mo Racing so congrats to Chris and my kid on their seasons and also to Gregg on #10. Depending on the race schedule and how much life gets in the way I'm not sure how many races I'll run, but rest assured the #73 CASE Construction Equipment/ BP Lubricants Ford Mustang will be back next year!"

12th Place- Jeff Hill- After finishing 2nd at Phoenix in his only start of 2021, former Midvale winner Jeff Hill competed in both New Smyrna races in 2022. Often a contender on the short tracks, the Brantford, ON driver finished a close 2nd to Gregg Rauscher in the first 25 lap feature, then backed that up with a 5th place in the second 25 lap race. Hill's plans for the 2023 season are unknown, but if his recent appearances are any indication, expect him to be a front runner when he shows up at the track.

Overall in 2022 there were 4 different pole winners, 4 different race winners and 11 of the 12 drivers who competed in 2022 had at least one top 5 finish. 9 drivers have started all 9 races held during the SSRA N3OCS' 18th season.

This write-up puts an official wrap on the 2022 season. Congratulations and thank you to all 12 drivers that competed throughout the course of the season. In the next couple weeks, I hope to update the SSRA N3OCS website's all-time career stats page and also post the 2023 schedule, which kicks off this November (2022). So be on the look out for that. Also, I uploaded some race logos (biglogo.tga's) from the start of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season to the the SSRA website's N3 utilities page. Every month or two I will upload another batch of race logos as the season progresses. In closing I want to thank everybody for their support of the SSRA N3OCS (and N3 in general) the past 18 years. Have a great off-season! See everybody at the track in November as we kick off season #19!

Thanks again and God Bless,

Rauscher Celebrates 10th Career SSRA N3OCS Championship In Victory Lane At Daytona!

Saturday, February 26th, 2022, 11:03 pm.....

On February 13th, the 2022 SSRA N3OCS season concluded at Daytona International Speedway with the 18th annual running of the running of the Neil Bonnett/ Dale Earnhardt Memorial 150. "Big" Gregg Rauscher won his 3rd pole of the season (which earned him the season long Bud Pole championship over Todd "Primo" Primerano and "the Qualifying Machine" Matt Yeager who had 2 poles each). Just taking the green flag earned Rauscher his 10th consecutive SSRA N3OCS title. Then in the race Rauscher who was aided by an excellent handling car and some good pit strategy scored his 2nd straight win at Daytona International Speedway after going winless in his first 16 attempts at the 2.5 mile tri-oval. 16 seconds back Eddie Sedlacek crossed the line in 2nd, his best result since his win at Rockingham in SSRA N3OCS' inaugural season. 2017 racer winner Ghostface Racer took the final rung on the podium in 3rd. Dusterman who is also a former Daytona winner, tied his season's best result by finishing 4th, while "Chicago" Chris Primerano was able to secure second place in the championship with a solid 5th place run. "I knew going into the race that once I took the green the championship would be mine, but I still really wanted to win this race. The car was awesome, the past couple years we really got the plate thing figured out. I think it's in the shock package. The tire wear was awesome and except when I was working the draft a couple times I never lifted all day, it was that good. Some of the top guys like Randy had problems so that made our race easier. But it's nice to go into the off-season on a high note.", said Rauscher in his post race interview.

Here are the top 5 finishers from the Daytona International Speedway. Be sure to check out the SSRA website for complete results.

Primerano who scored his best ever points finish was the victor at Surfers Paradise. Tied for 3rd place only 6 points out of 2nd were Tony Plumadore Jr., who ran his first full season since 2018 and earned his breakthrough victory in the 2nd 25 lapper at New Smyrna and series veteran Ghostface Racer who finished on the podium in the final 2 races of the season. Todd "Primo" Primerano struggled in the final 3 races but still finished a solid 5th in the standings only 5 points out of 3rd.

I want to take this time to thank everybody that competed during 2022 season, especially the 9 full-time competitors. I know finding the time to run the races isn't easy and I truly appreciate everyone's efforts that helped make the 18th anniversary season of the SSRA N3OCS possible. In the next couple of weeks I hope to do the annual top 10 points write-up, so be on the look out for that. I also want to officially announce that the league will be back for year 19 this coming November. The 2023 schedule will be released sometime in March, but I can say that there will once again be 9 races and there likely will be 3 venue changes. Also, by the end of March I hope to have the SSRA website completely updated for the 2023 season, including the aforementioned schedule, the career stats page, calendar files uploaded etc., so be on the look out for that. Enjoy the off-season!

Ghostface Racer finished a season's best 2nd place over 13 seconds back. Steven Hyde finished a solid 3rd, while 2nd place points combatants "Chicago" Chris Primerano and Tony "T-Plum" Plumadore Jr. finished 4th and 5th respectively.

With only 1 race remaining in the 2022 season "Big" Gregg Rauscher has all but officially clinched the 2022 SSRA N3OCS championship. With a 35 point lead over Tony Plumadore Jr and "Chicago" Chris Primerano who are tied for 2nd, (assuming the number of entries is in line with other races this season), all Rauscher has to do is start the season finale at Daytona to win his 10th championship. The battle for 2nd on the other hand is an extremely good one, in addition to Plumadore Jr. and (Chris) Primerano, Todd Primerano who sits in 4th only 7 points further back and Steven Hyde and Ghostface Racer who are tied for 5th only 10 points out of 2nd all have a shot at the runner-up position in the championship.

The 2021 SSRA N3OCS season finale takes place at the 2.5 mile Daytona International Speedway tri-oval. "Rocket" Randy Cowen who was forced to miss last year's race due to steering issues, will hope to turn around his rough season with his 6th victory at Daytona. While former Daytona winners Dusterman and Ghostface Racer will look to end their long victory droughts. "Chicago"  Chris Primerano and Steven Hyde who have had their fair share of solid runs at Daytona could also be strong contenders for victory at the "World Center of Racing". Race settings have been posted on the SSRA website. Results from Daytona are due this coming Sunday night, February 13th. Thanks to everyone that competed at Daytona Beach and good luck at Daytona International Speedway.
